RAIN IN CAPE TOWN

The dark unearthly hours of this morning unleashed another rain storm over Cape Town. For several hours I listened to the rain beating down on my roof and drifted into a sound sleep just after 4am. Trees and grass and especially the aloes will be a deeper fresher green today. Soon I will write a post about Oudtshoorn After The Rains, a lasting childhood memory. Oudtshoorn is where you will find the Cango Caves in the Small Karoo. It is also where I was born.

This is the thing about rain: is washes the dust off everything; also off memory.
